As 2026 enters its final few months, The Eventus Recruitment Group is continuing its commitment to supporting young people by partnering with Lancaster and Morecambe charity Escape2Make and delivering employability workshops for local 11 to 18-year-olds.
Lancashire-based recruitment specialists The Eventus Recruitment Group are supporting Escape2Make (E2M) as their Charity of the Year, with members of the team using their recruitment experience to help young people build confidence and develop skills for their future.
With the new academic year underway and thoughts beginning to turn towards 2027, the partnership will see the Eventus team deliver employability workshops at Escape2Make’s centre in Lancaster. The sessions will give young people practical guidance to help them understand the workplace and feel better prepared for employment in the future.
About Escape2Make
Escape2Make is a Lancaster-based registered charity that provides free creative activities for young people across the Lancaster and Morecambe area. Its aim is to help 11 to 18-year-olds escape boredom, social media, loneliness and pressures at school or home, while providing opportunities to make things, make friends and make a difference in their community.
The charity creates safe, kind and welcoming spaces through a variety of creative activities. Its programme includes year-round clubs, school holiday programmes, outreach workshops and larger community projects.
Current clubs and activities include Art Club, Film Club, Craft Club, Makers Club, Drama Club, Pottery Club and Escape Sessions. Through these activities, young people have opportunities to explore everything from filmmaking, performance and art to ceramics, crafts, technology and making. Escape2Make also runs larger creative projects which culminate in community events, including festivals, cabarets, fairs and markets.
Earlier this year, the charity held its E2M Cabaret 2026. Throughout the February half-term, young people developed their talents through workshops including contemporary dance, stand-up comedy, baking, glow-in-the-dark art, livestreaming and magic. The project culminated in a performance at The Platform in Morecambe, where young people showcased their skills in front of an audience of more than 100 parents, stakeholders and collaborators. Escape2Make was also presented with The King’s Award for Voluntary Service during the Cabaret event. The charity was announced as a recipient of the award in 2025. The award is the highest given to local voluntary groups in the UK.
Most recently, young people took part in Escape2Make’s Heritage Festival 2026. The summer project ran from 25th July to 28th August and provided free creative workshops inspired by the heritage of Lancaster and Morecambe. The programme culminated in a free Heritage Festival at Dalton Square and the E2M Centre in Lancaster on Saturday 29th August. The event featured creative workshops, live performances and exhibitions showcasing the work young people had created during the summer.
The Heritage Festival project was delivered in partnership with Lancaster City Museums, Lancaster Black History Group and more than 20 freelance artists and youth workers. Escape2Make also took Heritage Festival activities to museums and heritage venues across Lancashire and Cumbria during August.
Eventus Recruitment and Escape2Make
Building on this programme of activities, The Eventus Recruitment Group will bring a different area of expertise to Escape2Make as the year progresses. The Eventus team’s employability workshops will focus on helping young people understand some of the skills they will need when they eventually enter the workplace. Drawing on the team’s day-to-day experience of recruitment and career development, the sessions will provide practical, age-appropriate guidance around employment and the world of work.

Escape2Make operates from the E2M Centre at 56 Church Street in Lancaster, which it describes as a hub for creativity for 11 to 18-year-olds. The charity moved into the centre in February 2025, creating a dedicated space for its activities.
