On Saturday 16th August 2025, three members of the Eventus Recruitment Group team – Amy Watson, Jo Hood and Richard Hatchett – took on the famous Cross Bay Walk from Arnside to Grange-over-Sands, raising more than £1,200 for Sands, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity.

Taking on the Challenge of the Cross Bay Walk

The Cross Bay Walk is one of the most iconic and challenging walks in the UK. Known for its shifting sands, hidden channels and fast-moving tides across Morecambe Bay, the walk tested the team’s stamina, resilience and teamwork. From wading through knee-deep waters to navigating slippery mudflats, the Eventus team embraced every challenge with determination and positivity.

They were cheered on throughout the 5-mile trek by colleagues Duncan McIlroy, Siobhan Courtney and Emma Fillingham, who provided encouragement and support from the sidelines.

Supporting Sands: A Charity Making a Difference

Amy Watson, Director at Eventus Recruitment Group and Cross Bay walker, commented: “We are so proud to have raised vital funds for Sands. The generosity of everyone who donated carried us across the Bay – we couldn’t have done it without you. Sands is such an important charity, providing bereavement support to families, funding research to save babies’ lives, and working tirelessly to reduce the loss of babies.”

The funds raised will go directly towards:

  • Supporting bereaved families through dedicated services
  • Funding research to save babies’ lives
  • Raising awareness and working to reduce stillbirth and neonatal death

Eventus Recruitment Group’s Commitment to Community

Managing Director Siobhan Courtney added: “We are incredibly proud of Amy, Jo and Richard for taking on this challenging walk and raising such a significant sum for a charity that does extraordinary work. Community and care are at the heart of Eventus, and this achievement reflects our values perfectly.”
