The Cheshire Legal Market is booming! We have recorded a quarter of seriously busy times in the Cheshire market recently.
We have been noting an increase in numbers of candidates wanting to steer out of the city practices and settle in to the beautiful Cheshire region.
This used to be classed as an ‘ideal situation but hard to achieve in a small market’ however this is no longer the case as Cheshire can now boast various take overs and new ventures in its busy legal market. For example, the recent Knights acquisition which aimed to create a £40m Cheshire firm.
Knights was one of the first firms to be backed by a private equity investor, selling a stake to Hamilton Bradshaw Capital Partners in 2012. The firm has offices in Staffordshire, Cheshire, Gloucestershire and Derbyshire.
The exciting region is home to so many Commercial Property Specialists and its towns such as Altrincham, Hale, Warrington and Crewe are all going through huge development. We are now hearing of property owners and developers investing in these towns more than ever.
After many periods of hard times within the property market we are now seeing huge changes in the suburbs which is in turn attracting more law firms and property businesses to these areas.
Commercial and Residential Property law would certainly be one of our busiest and highest in demand recruitment wise however Family Law and Private client is consistently demanding.

Residential Property Solicitors and Paralegals are high in demand in the Cheshire region currently, and some clients are opting for the trainee route as demand is that high. The training and development available at some of these firms is exceptional and is giving an excellent chance to law graduates to gain practical training in such a demanding area of law. Salaries have increased significantly within Residential Property and this seems to be set to continue.
