Passionate about supporting people, we are dedicated to helping people to progress in their careers and charities to fundraise
Here at the Eventus Recruitment Group we care about helping people within and beyond their careers. At every opportunity as a company we try to give back to the community. Whether, that’s through fundraising, raising awareness of charitable causes or supporting people to develop employability skills. Take a look at some of our charitable activities here.
Chadwick High School
Our Managing Director Siobhan Courtney is an Enterprise Adviser and Governor at Chadwick School. Chadwick High School is an alternative provision school supporting pupils who are struggling to engage with mainstream education. As part of her role, Siobhan, along with staff at the school and Inspira, are developing and implementing an employability skills programme for the school’s pupils. This will support students at Chadwick High School to gain employability skills to help set them up for a brighter future when they leave school.
Typhoons RUFC
Annually we sponsor Typhoons RUFC, an inclusive rugby club in Lancashire. Set up in 2018 to be Lancashire’s first Inclusive Rugby Club, the Typhoons won the IGR Northern League in 2024. Read more about their club, success and growth in our exclusive interview with the Typhoons Chairperson Kris Barber-Midgley here.
Sands – The Eventus Recruitment Charity of the Year for 2025
Throughout 2025 we are excited to be raising awareness and fundraising for Sands. The team voted for Sands to be our charity of the year, for their work across the UK speaking up about pregnancy and baby loss, saving babies’ lives and supporting bereaved families.”
On Saturday 16th August 2025 the Eventus Recruitment team are participating in the Cross Bay Walk, crossing Morecambe Bay on foot avoiding quick sand and fast flowing tides, to raise money for Sands. If you would like to sponsor us, please donate at our JustGiving page here. All donations go straight to Sands.
Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society) is a charity registered in England and Wales (Registered Charity Number 299679). Find out more at https://www.sands.org.uk.

Work experience placements
We offer work experience and industry placements as part of the Lancashire Skills Pledge. Our Marketing Assistant, Ellie Pomfret, first joined us on an industry placement as part of her degree. In addition, we offer work experience to college and A-Level students.
In the video below, Ellie talks about her experience of participating in an industry work placement with the Eventus Recruitment Group
Bone Cancer Research Trust
Bone Cancer Research Trust is a charity very close to Siobhan’s heart. With Siobhan being a survivor of Bone Cancer, we raise awareness and fundraise for the Bone Cancer Research Trust. Also, Siobhan often provides talks at their events.
Employment skills workshops and careers events
The Eventus Recruitment team attend law fairs, careers events and clinics within universities to support students with employability skills and gain work experience / graduate jobs. A part of this work includes reviewing students’ CVs.

Jail & Bail - St John's Hospice
In 2024, the Eventus Recruitment team thought it would be fun to nominate their Managing Director, Siobhan, for St John’s Hospice’s Jail & Bail fundraiser. As a former prison officer, it gave Siobhan a taste of life on the other side of the prison doors, in the historic HMP Lancaster Castle. Together they exceeded the bail amount of £999 for Siobhan’s release, raising a grand total of £1,133 for St John’s Hospice.
Lancashire Skills Pledge
We are members of the Lancashire Skills Pledge for our commitment to upskiling our employees and being an Enterprise Adviser at Chadwick High School.
